WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a ‘physical fitness system’ developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates, who it was named after. Joseph Pilates called his method "Contrology".
It is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates moves typically tend to target the core, although the exercises work other areas of your body with the aim of toning and strengthening your core muscles.

HOW CAN PILATES HELP YOU?
-
Pilates helps improve posture and take stress off the joints...poor posture can lead to injuries so improving this is key.
-
Pilates exercises help to tone all of the body, focussing on the core throughout and helps to tone the tummy, legs and arms.
-
Improved flexibility, muscle strength, coordination and balance.
-
Aids relaxation and stress management.
-
Injuries often occur due to an imbalance in the muscles...Pilates is a great way to ensure even muscle tone.
